Brief - Design Penguin book cover in relation to your given short story

The short story was set in 50's ish and set in mountainous switzerland (interpretation) was about a boy and father father drank beer and the boy drank orangeade in a cafe with a couple of budgies.

This was literally the story and I struggled at first as there wasnt really a main event or a judge of character or anything really.

Alot of ideas later I descided to settle upon the theme of orangeade and bottle caps.

Final Idea - This was the finished product I used the design of some vintage orangeade/lemonade included the budgies on the emblem and the mountain on the back cover

As a result of this project I recently ordered Penguin by Design: A Cover Story 1935-2005 this project is something that really does interest me and I know in September that Nottingham Trent run a book cover project brief.
