Light Reading

I decided to get intelligent about graphic design, from other blogs such as this one and this one I found a few books that appealed to me.

Firstly, one Ive mentioned before 'How to be a graphic designer without losing your soul' which I havent finished but have thouroughly enjoyed what I have read. As it tells you exactly what you want to know in the bluntest (even a word?) fashion. I do plan to finsih it this week so Ill give you another update.

Secondly, Just my type book Ive found this all over the internet but the book keeps poping up all over my favourite blog http://www.gemsmaquillage.com/ - she is a self proclaimed typography geek and I must say Im part of that club myself as I think there is nothing worse than a bad font. The book is intresting and takes you back to the begining of fonts and why the most famous fonts are just that and why. I learnt alot and I now find myself scanning all fonts with my new app 'What The Font' (available on android probably on iphone). Its not all that accurate but its good fun.

Finally,Graphic design - a concise history, a book that Ive order but not read a word of yet, although I did flick through and look of the pictures (of course) and saw some intresting images which I cant wait to find out about. I dont know much about the history of graphic design as during my GCSE and A level I never needed to know but I feel like nows the time to take it upon myself.
