Anyone who knows me will know that I am a huge fan of shoes! Heels to be more specific! Christian Louboutins to be even more specific! I was reading one of the sunday magazines and spotted an insert about an Christian Louboutin retrospective, at the London Design Museum. I became instantly excited and although I dont own a pair, I will before I die! I copied the information for the website for you all to read:
'01 May – 09 July
The Design Museum presents iconic French shoe designer
Christian Louboutin, celebrating a career which has pushed the
boundaries of high fashion shoe design. This exhibition celebrates
Louboutin’s career to date and showcases twenty years of designs and
inspiration, revealing the artistry and theatricality of his shoe design
from stilettos to lace-up boots, studded sneakers and bejewelled pumps.
Louboutin’s shoes are the epitome of style, glamour, power, femininity
and elegance.
At the core of the exhibition will be a unique exploration of
Louboutin’s design process, taking the visitor through every stage of
the design journey, revealing how a shoe is constructed, from the
initial drawing and first prototype through to production in the
factory. Looking beyond design and production the exhibition will also
explore the company’s innovative store design.'
I hope to be booking tickets very soon!
Oh there is also a Christian Louboutin book (below). Again I will quote the website as it is worded so beautifully 'An extraordinary monograph created by Christian Louboutin, renowned for
his beautifully crafted handmade shoes, in particular his elegantly sexy
stilettos. This stunning volume, with a fanciful and intricate pop-up,
an elaborate foldout cover, and dramatic still-life photography, evokes
the artistry and theatricality of Louboutin's shoe designs.' at £85 it is definetly an investment but again when reading about it, it makes me too excited!
Watch this space amazing photos to follow!
